Catch up post following the festive break
Looking back at the last post I did for this unit, which was back in Novermber it is pretty apparent that I haven't paid much attention to this degree in a couple of month - both because of the transition from full time to part time and the intesntiy of work lately.
I figured it would be a good idea to do make a few catch-up/refresher notes to get back to where I was when I left the project. I actaully remebered where I was mostly, without going back over my posts:
I'm really intrigued by the idea of creating an interactive, mini 'scavenger hunt' within a box, as well as using the natural curiosity of the human race to initiate engagement. I think there is definitely enough to go off here, with inevitable refinement as I go - it is now more a matter of looking into the nature of human curiosity of the creative methods I should use to push engagement.
The materials and methods used themselves will also have an impact here as well - the posters I designed for the proposal unit come into this, as I've mentioned before. Using tactile methods of making/designing seemed to create intrigue, whether that be over how I did it or simply looking closer at the posters to understand them.
A question I am really intrigued by and think I will look at as one of the first steps is whether I can laser cut a QR code and it to then still scan... I imagine that will highten curiosity of the viewer and also create a sense of discomfort as it's both the unknown and will kind of just be there... this links to the proposal unit as well.
That is where I am at with this project currently and where I think I will take it next so I will need to do some research and experimentation development.
